Diet: Dead or decaying insects, smaller insects, will eat almost anything

  • Field crickets tend to be dark brown or black in color while house crickets are light to medium brown.
  • Adult field crickets die during the winter, but eggs will withstand the cold weather and hatch in the spring.
  • They are most active at night.
