Rats & Mice
Scientific name: Rattus & Mus
Average size: Mice are small – about 3-4inches, and rats tend to be much larger – about 9-11inches
Commonly found: In dark places and near food, trashcans and dumpsters
Diet: They are omnivorous but prefer to eat carbohydrates and fruits
General characteristics and facts:
- Vary in color from white to brown to grey. Rats can also be black
- They are nocturnal and tend to be timid
- A rat’s coat is usually greasy and will leave grease marks behind on surfaces it’s touched
- They can carry various diseases
